Does Imesa also develop customized solutions based on customer specifications?
Yes. 

Imesa designs and manufactures medium- and low-voltage electrical switchgears developed according to the customer’s technical specifications and the project’s application requirements. Thanks to the expertise of our Technical Department and R&D team, we support customers throughout all phases, from needs analysis to the implementation of the most suitable solution, in full compliance with applicable standards.

Does Imesa provide installation, commissioning, or testing services for electrical switchboards?
Yes. Imesa also provides support after delivery, offering testing, commissioning, and start-up services for electrical switchboards, both in Italy and abroad. Our team of qualified technicians ensures comprehensive assistance to guarantee the proper operation of the systems while complying with the highest quality and safety standards.

Is it possible to receive remote technical support in case of a fault?
Yes. Imesa has a dedicated Service Business Unit, structured to provide timely and effective remote technical assistance in the event of faults or operational issues. Our team of specialized technicians supports customers in diagnosing and resolving problems, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity. When necessary, remote support can be complemented by on-site technical intervention, both in Italy and abroad.

How can I request a quote for an electrical switchgear?
You can fill out the request form on our website, providing all the required information on the product pages. Alternatively, you can contact our Sales Department directly via email or phone. Our technical-sales team will review your request and provide a detailed quote, assisting you in defining the solution that best meets your needs.

What information should I provide for a complete request for a quote?
To prepare a complete and accurate request for a quote, it is recommended to provide all available technical and project information, including:

  • Type of electrical switchgear required (medium or low voltage)
  • Technical specifications and applicable standards
  • Electrical diagrams, layouts, or available technical documentation
  • Installation data and environmental conditions
  • Required delivery times and final project destination

Imesa’s technical-sales team is always available to assist customers in gathering the necessary information and in defining the solution that best meets the project’s application requirements.

What is the response time for a commercial inquiry?
Imesa is committed to responding to commercial inquiries as quickly as possible. In most cases, our technical-sales team contacts the customer within 24–48 business hours of receiving the request, to gather any additional details and provide a complete and customized quote.

Which CEI/IEC standards are complied with by Imesa switchgears?
The product standard for medium-voltage switchgears is CEI EN IEC 62271-200.

For low-voltage switchboards, particularly power switchboards, the reference standards are CEI EN IEC 61439-1 and 61439-2.

What tests are carried out during factory testing?
At the end of the manufacturing process, at least the following tests are performed:

  • Visual inspections, to verify compliance with the project documentation
  • Dielectric withstand test of power circuits and auxiliary circuits
  • Continuity test of protection circuits (grounding connections)
  • Functional tests and verification of safety interlocks

Are Imesa switchgears designed for automation or integration into SCADA systems?
Yes. This is part of the integrations that IMESA regularly provides upon request, by installing equipment compatible with the communication network requirements of the plant.

What level of IP protection do the switchgears offer?
The standard protection rating of the external enclosure is IP30 (IP32 for marine installations). Other ratings are available upon request.

How does preventive maintenance of a switchgear work?
Detailed instructions, to be followed periodically, are included in the manuals provided with the switchgears. These include, among other things: cleaning, inspection of mechanical actuators, safety interlock mechanisms, tightening of electrical connections, and measurement of insulation resistance.

Do you manufacture switchgears according to IEEE and UL Listed standards?
Currently, these standards are not included in IMESA’s product offering. For further information, please contact the Technical Department.

I have a marine application. Can Imesa provide switchgears for these applications? Which classification registers can we use?
IMESA has been active for decades in the marine sector with its products.

Supplies have been carried out in accordance with the regulations of the main Classification Societies (RINA, Lloyd’s Register, Det Norske Veritas, Bureau Veritas, ABS, etc.).

I have an Oil & Gas application. Which IOGP standards can you meet?
IMESA supplies can be carried out in compliance with the requirements of IOGP specifications, respectively issued for medium- and low-voltage switchgears.
