
The new ENEL GSCM009 specification concerns air-insulated medium-voltage compartments with withdrawable circuit breakers for Enel Distribuzione Group’s HV/MV substations. These switchgear can be used not only in Italy, Romania, and Spain, but also in South American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. This equipment is intended for installation in primary cabin substations for indoor use only.
Main features
The compartments fall within the LSC2B configuration with metal compartmentation made of galvanized sheet metal and stainless steel parts; the front and rear parts (hinged doors and bolted panels) are made of pickled sheet metal with a RAL 7035 painted finish.
The number and type of compartments provided depends on the type of substation, the choice between the various types listed below:

The earthing switch is located at the rear of the compartment (cable compartment), while the operating mechanism and key locks are located on the front. With the earthing switch open, the circuit breaker housed in its enclosure can be inserted or disconnected using a special operating key inserted into the slot on the front of the panel.
The compartments are made with withdrawable and removable circuit breakers, mounted on a specific trolley that allows the following operating conditions of the equipment:
- Inserted
- Partly disconnected
- Totally disconnected
- Removed
