Michela: Giordano, how did you come to Imesa and what prompted you to choose it?
Giordano: I already knew Imesa as a renowned manufacturer of electrical switchboards, I am from the Marche region, I come from Fermo so, when I saw the announcement on LinkedIn that the position for a salesman in the Energy sector had opened, I immediately sent my application.
I won’t hide from you that I knew that the company was facing a delicate restructuring period, but at the interview I was immediately struck by the approach of the CEO Marco Achilli. He conveyed his vision to me in a clear, concrete and sincere way, this made the difference. The flexibility of the schedule and the possibility of activating smart working were also decisive elements: it allows me to manage work in a balanced way with family commitments, without sacrificing the value of the team.
After twelve years in the electrical sector, where I dealt with cable accessories, I felt the need for a change, for a more dynamic and flexible reality with room for growth.
Michela: How did you experience the transition to Imesa and what do you appreciate most in your role?
Giordano: The entry into Imesa was very natural. I felt welcomed right away, the environment is open and stimulating, which makes integration easier. I came from a home office experience and missed the daily confrontation with colleagues: here I rediscovered the sense of teamwork. In my role as Key Account Manager I have a lot of autonomy and this is a great advantage. I work with both the Medium Voltage for primary and secondary distribution and Low Voltage Business Units and I often discuss with production managers and project managers to ensure timely and reliable responses to customers.
Michela: The Energy & Utility sector is in full evolution. How do you see the future and what opportunities do you think there are for Imesa?
Giordano: The electrification trend is booming and the next few years will be very positive, thanks also to the investments of the PNRR. Imesa has all the credentials to seize these opportunities, and this is demonstrated by the results we are already obtaining. Personally, a great satisfaction was the acquisition of 2 new customers in our portfolio, EDISON and DOLOMITI ENERGIA as well as the consolidation of some historical customers such as E-Distribution and Terna. This is the beauty of our work, seeing our efforts materialize and contributing to the growth of the company.
Michela: What is the added value of Imesa compared to other companies in which you have worked?
Giordano: The company is dynamic and young, but at the same time it has solid foundations thanks to the experience of people who work there. There is a balance between innovation and expertise, and the decision-making chain is short, which means that if you have a good idea, it is listened to and can be implemented quickly. This is not a given. In addition, even in a smaller company than multinationals, I found very valid welfare tools. We KAMs, for example, are tied to challenging goals with an MBO of results that stimulates us to give our best.
Michela: The presence of the Schiavoni family is still very strong in the company. What impact does it have on employees?
Giordano: It has a huge impact. The attachment of the Schiavoni family to Imesa is something that can be felt every day. Sergio Schiavoni is always present, transmitting energy and desire to do, and this is reflected in all of us. When you see the property so involved, it’s inevitable to feel like you’re part of something bigger. Meetings with the CEO and the Chairman are also moments in which genuine emotions emerge: the achievement of a goal is never just a number, but a result shared by the whole team.
Michela: After almost a year in Imesa, what is your assessment of your experience?
Giordano: Positive, without a doubt. It was a formative and stimulating experience, and every day there are new challenges. Here there is room for those who want to get involved, grow and build something concrete.
My advice for those who want to join Imesa? Be open to change, ready to learn and work as a team. It is a company that offers the opportunity to leave a concrete mark!
Michela: Thank you Giordano!
