Michela: Danilo, your journey at Imesa began 30 years ago. Would you like to tell us how it went?
Danilo: Of course! After graduating in electrical engineering, the world of work was very different from today: companies were the ones looking for staff, and Imesa was a great opportunity. From the beginning they trusted me, making me follow the negotiations and support important figures such as Sergio Schiavoni, the founder and Mr Giuseppe Abramucci, the then general manager. I remember well those first meetings with clients of the caliber of SAIPEM and ENI, which at the time always took place in person. It was an intense start, but fundamental for my growth.
Michela: Today you are a point of reference for the naval sector. How did you come to this specialization?
Danilo: It was a natural path. I have always had a strong interest in the commercial world, but I also wanted to maintain the link with the technical part. I have been involved in the naval sector for over 20 years, first as a sales technician and then, since 2019, as Key Account Manager. It is an area that has given me so much and that continues to stimulate me every day.
Michela: After so many years, what are you still passionate about your job?
Danilo: I would say the variety and contact with customers. Every day is different, there are always new challenges and opportunities. Traveling, meeting people, building relationships: all this makes my work never monotonous. This is the reason why I stayed at Imesa for so long: here I found an environment that allows me to grow continuously.
Michela: Finding the right people for this role is not easy. What are, in your opinion, the ideal characteristics?
Danilo: It’s true, it’s not a role for everyone. You need experience, curiosity and a good technical base: knowing the products well is essential to be able to sell them in the right way. A young man with a bit of experience and a desire to get involved can really make a difference.
Michela: 2024 was a positive year for the company, you also contributed by acquiring 2 important and conspicuous orders with 2 important historical customers of Imesa. What do you expect from 2025?
Danilo: 2024 has been full of satisfactions and my goal is to consolidate these successes. I don’t have any new defined targets for 2025 yet, but it will certainly be a year of growth. I like to take on new challenges and I’m ready to get involved. In addition, the offshore market is experiencing a moment of great evolution, there are many investments in this sector, so commercially I have adopted a strategy that focuses on participation in international fairs and direct contact with customers. In the coming months I will be in Miami, Houston and Oslo to consolidate our presence. These are crucial events to create new business relationships and strengthen our positioning.
Michela: Imesa has introduced many innovations in the field of welfare. Would you like to tell us which one you appreciated the most?
Danilo: The flexibility in working hours and work management was a real turning point. Today I can organize myself better and reconcile work and private life in a more balanced way. This autonomy has given me even more motivation and a sense of belonging to the company. Imesa is going through a period of strong change under the leadership of Marco Achilli, and I fully share his vision and corporate objectives. For a year, the commercial direction has been taken over by Michele Golfieri, with whom I immediately found a great harmony. He is a professional with an excellent strategic vision and a great ability to listen. The comparison with him is always stimulating and allows us to better structure our sales objectives.
Imesa for me is more than just a workplace, it is a reality to which I am deeply attached. Seeing how it is evolving makes me feel proud.
Michela: Digitization is revolutionizing the world of work. How are you adapting to these changes?
Danilo: I must say that initially I was a bit skeptical, but then I took a course on artificial intelligence and I realized how important it is to keep up with the times. We are also introducing a new CRM to optimize contact management and improve our work. These are important changes, but necessary.
Michela: Looking to the future, what are your ambitions?
Danilo: Keep growing, always! It’s part of my DNA. I want to move forward and contribute to the growth of the company. Here there is a strong family identity, and having a direct dialogue with management is an incredible added value.
Michela: Thank you Danilo! Good luck with your work.
