Michela: Hi Alessandro, thank you for accepting this interview. Let’s start with a question that will help us get to know you better: can you tell us about your journey at IMESA and how you came to hold the role of Operation Manager?
Alessandro: Certainly, Michela. I joined IMESA in 1999, initially to replace a colleague on maternity leave. I was in charge of accounts payable in the administrative office. Since then, I have been lucky enough to grow within the company, gradually taking on different roles and increasingly responsible roles, first as logistics manager, then as head of the purchasing office and later as Supply Chain Manager, a role I held until December 2024. I thus had the opportunity to participate in complex projects related to the production of electrical panels, containerized substations and photovoltaic systems. Each change has been an opportunity to put myself to the test, contribute to the growth of this company and grow in turn, both professionally and personally.
Michela: Was there a particular moment in your journey that you think was fundamental?
Alessandro: Absolutely. One of the most significant moments was when I took on the role of logistics manager. At that time, I found myself managing complex and challenging projects, which allowed me to develop a strategic vision of the company, playing a managerial role for the first time.
A fundamental figure for my path was Ing. Abramucci, who believed in me from the beginning. Thanks to his confidence, I had the opportunity to take on more and more responsibility, which helped me develop self-confidence and prepare me for more complex roles.
Michela: Let’s move on to the present. What does it mean to you to play the role of Operation Manager, a feature first introduced in IMESA? Can you briefly explain the main responsibilities?
Alessandro: It is a new and stimulating role, designed to integrate and optimize fundamental functions such as procurement, logistics, planning and management of the production of low voltage and medium voltage electrical switchboards for primary distribution.
My main task is to ensure that all these processes work in synergy, improving operational efficiency and supporting the company’s growth strategy. This involves analysing workflows, implementing new organisational solutions and coordinating the different departments so that production responds quickly and flexibly to market requirements. It is a demanding challenge, but also an extraordinary opportunity to take our company to new levels of excellence.
Michela: In your opinion, what are the fundamental factors to support the growth and evolution of IMESA, both in terms of products and operations and strategy?
Alessandro: First of all, it is essential to focus on the development of innovative products, capable of responding to the needs of a constantly evolving market. At the same time, achieving turnover targets requires a well-structured and efficient organization.
A crucial aspect is the creation of solid partnerships with qualified suppliers, which allows us to optimize production flows, guaranteeing quality and punctuality. Building a business network based on trust and collaboration is essential to face market challenges and achieve ambitious goals.
Finally, the contribution of people is essential. Enhance skills and talents, promoting a collaborative and innovation-oriented approach, allows us to build sustainable and long-lasting growth..
Michela: Your team has grown and now you have the responsibility of leading an important group of people. What is the message or advice you would like to give to your employees to better face this path?
Alessandro: My experience shows that with professionalism, dedication and the right support it is possible to build a solid and significant growth path. Ethics and respect are the foundations of every professional relationship. Today, more than ever, our company offers opportunities for growth and training courses for those who want to improve themselves and make a difference.
I advise my collaborators to cultivate curiosity, propose new ideas and solutions, and face each challenge with a proactive spirit. Only in this way can we contribute together to the success and growth of the company.
Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the Schiavoni family and to all the people who believed in me. A special thanks goes to Marco Achilli for the trust he has placed in me, entrusting me with such an important role at a crucial time for the company. My commitment is to reciprocate this trust, contributing to the success of IMESA and all its collaborators.
Michela: Thank you, Alessandro. We are confident that, with your guidance and teamwork, we will continue to build a successful future.
