At the close of a year that marked a period of significant evolution for Imesa, we asked President Giampiero Schiavoni to share his thoughts on the company’s achievements and future prospects.
Michela: Good morning, Giampiero, 2025 was undoubtedly a turning point for Imesa, both in terms of numbers and corporate organization and strategies. What do you think are the main factors that made this year so significant for the company?
Giampiero: 2025 was a very important year because it allowed us to see the concrete results of work that began some time ago. On the one hand, there are the numbers, which have grown significantly; on the other, there is a more structured, organized company, and more aware of its direction. We have clarified roles, processes, and strategic priorities, and this has made us stronger and ready to face the future with greater stability.
Michela: Which trends or dynamics in the main markets in which Imesa operates have had the greatest impact on recent results?
Giampiero: The markets in which we operate are undergoing significant transformation. The energy transition, the renewal of electricity grids, and the growth of the naval and infrastructure markets have created significant opportunities. In particular, the demand for increasingly reliable, innovative, and sustainable solutions has rewarded our approach and our ability to offer quality products.
Michela: In more detail, how would you describe IMESA’s overall performance in 2025 compared to initial expectations?
Giampiero: 2025 can be defined as a year of acceleration and confirmation, strengthening the visibility and credibility of IMESA’s growth path. Overall, IMESA’s performance in 2025 was better than initial expectations, both financially and operationally, confirming the validity of the strategic choices made last year. We achieved revenues and margins higher than budgeted, supported by a solid order book and a mix of higher value-added contracts.
Michela: The net financial position is practically zero, and the OCF is significantly improving. What strategies have made this balance possible?
Giampiero: There’s no magic formula for achieving such encouraging results. Instead, it’s a coordinated set of operational and financial strategies. It’s the result of greater attention to cash flow and the company’s day-to-day management. We’ve worked hard on working capital, improving the management of receivables, inventory, and suppliers, and we’ve been more selective about investments. At the same time, improving operating profitability has done the rest, allowing us to achieve a very healthy financial balance.
Michela: In terms of reorganization, how do you assess the contribution of the various business units to overall performance?
Giampiero: The company’s overall performance is the result of a balanced and complementary contribution from all business units, each of which effectively fulfilled its role within the new organizational structure. Overall, the reorganization has enabled the various business units to operate in a more focused, responsible, and synergistic manner, leveraging their respective expertise and contributing concretely and measurably to the achievement of the overall company result.
Michela: Among the initiatives of the last quarter, the JesAir and IMESALab projects stand out. What benefits do you foresee for the company in the short and medium term?
Giampiero: The introduction of the SF₆-free framework is not just a technological advancement, but a strategic lever that can translate into concrete commercial, reputational, and industrial benefits in the coming year, contributing measurably to the company’s growth and solidity. It significantly strengthens our ESG positioning and increases value for our customers, ensuring greater social and environmental acceptance of the systems installed. IMESALab, on the other hand, is an investment in people and skills: in the short term, it will improve efficiency and quality, and in the medium term, it will become an accelerator of innovation, training, and the company’s attractiveness.
Michela: The updated forecast calls for a production value of over €38 million and a growing EBITDA for 2025. Referring to the CEO’s business plan, which aims to reach €100 million by 2030 with a very ambitious program, what strategic priorities and initiatives will guide IMESA in 2026 to continue on this growth path?
Giampiero: Closing 2025 with a production value of over €38 million and a growing EBITDA confirms that the path to €100 million by 2030, which Marco Achilli and I have shared, is concrete and feasible.
In 2026, IMESA will focus on five key levers: commercial expansion, sustainable innovation with cutting-edge solutions, operational excellence, internal and external training to develop distinctive skills, and strategic partnerships with customers and institutions. Thanks to these initiatives, we will build a more agile, competitive company, ready for solid and sustainable growth throughout the business plan. The goal is to consolidate the results achieved and maintain a solid growth trajectory consistent with the 2030 plan.
Michela: IMESA has always stood out for its resilience and its ability to adapt to markets and innovation, qualities that have proven themselves and have allowed us to overcome difficult times. With Christmas just around the corner, what message of thanks and good wishes would you like to extend to our collaborators, customers, and partners?
Giampiero: First of all, I’d like to say thank you. Thank you to our people, who every day transform challenges into opportunities, with expertise, passion, and team spirit. Thank you to our customers, who continue to choose us and encourage us to do better. And thank you to our partners, with whom we share vision, trust, and the desire to grow together. Christmas is the perfect time to pause and reflect on the journey we’ve made: IMESA has demonstrated once again that resilience isn’t just knowing how to resist, but knowing how to evolve, innovate, and start over stronger. I wish everyone a peaceful Christmas, filled with positive energy, and a new year filled with projects, achievements, and new challenges to face together. Because the future, when built as a team, creates decidedly less fear… and much more enthusiasm.
